DSA Bint Shadenn adds an important dimension to the Dogwood Springs broodmare band. A bay daughter of two grey parents, Bint Shadenn descends from some exceptional bay mares including Dr. Hans Nagel's Hanan on the sire side, and Gleannloch's fantastic EAO import *Bint Maisa El Saghira on her dam's side.

DSA Bint Shadenn comes from a long dam line of very good producing mares, both in quality of offspring and numbers of foals. Her dam line originates at the Inshass Stud of Egypt, from a Saqlawi mare who was gifted to ex-King Farouk by King Saoud. Bint Shadenn's great granddam was the Saqlawi mare *Sharara, imported to the US by Pyramid Society co-founder Willis Flick, from Dr. Sayed Marei's famous Albadeia Stud of Egypt. *Sharara was bred to Glenglade Arabian's Ansata Bint Bukra son Ansata Al Naseri, and produced El Sharie, who was in turn bred to US National Reserve Champion Futurity Stallion Shaikh Al Badi to produce Shadenn. Dogwood Springs selected the beautiful imported stallion *Shahir IASB, bred by Ariela Arabians of Israel, for Shadenn in 2003. The resulting foal was a substantial, animated, bold moving bay filly; DSA Bint Shadenn.

Dogwood Springs is eagerly awaiting the birth of two foals in 2009 out of DSA Bint Shadenn, by the extremely typey imported German-bred stallion *Alaa Jabaar Ma' Absha, one via ET and a second she is carrying herself.
